There’s not often a struggle in life that doesn’t intersect with one of your relationships. From an early age, Erin has been fascinated with how relationships impact our day-to-day. From family or friends to romantic interactions and colleagues, our relationships can make hard times feel entirely worth it or completely unmanageable. Whichever the case may be, time and again research has shown us that the quality and extent of our community and supports have a monumental impact on our wellbeing.

Trained in Gottman and cognitive behavioural conjoint therapy, Erin combines her passion for understanding humanity’s need for connection, with lived experience and evidence-based approaches. Committed to expanding society’s perceptions of meaningful relationships, she challenges stigma and normative western views on relationship styles such as ethical non-monogamy and the kink and queer communities, as well as the value that physical, spiritual, or mental and emotional connection holds.

Erin provides a safe, open, and non-judgmental space to explore all manner of ways we connect with one another, as well as opening her heart to those who have experienced trauma as a result of their interactions with others. Erin collaborates with clients to deepen understanding, improve communication, and find resolution to this universal human struggle. By harnessing strengths and identified values, Erin helps individual, conjoint, and couple’s clients find their path forward.

Erin the Person

What has been your favourite age growing up and why?

I would have to say everything after my 30s. My previous life experiences allowed me to get to know myself very well, and so this stage of my life was when I was able to begin living a life aligned with my my purpose, values and dreams.

Do you live by any words of wisdom, or a motto? If so, care to share it?

lokah samastha sukino bhavantu -

May all beings be peaceful and free. And let it begin with me.

I want to have the most epic garden in life (currently under construction) and walk the Glenorchy trails in NZ

What's next on your bucket list?

Despite the challenges you face, you have a strong, beautiful, amazing person within you – if you haven’t seen them lately, I would love to be there when you reintroduce yourself.
